From 13 July to 30 September 2018 Palazzo Reale hosts the exhibition Bonalumi 1958 - 2013, first anthology of Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2013) in his city, a few years after his death, free admission. The exhibition itinerary is completed with a focus titled Agostino Bonalumi. Space, environment, project set up at the Museo del Novecento and with admission included in the ticket of this museum.
The exhibition presents 120 works by the Milanese artist, able to witness all his creative path, from the debut, which took place in Milan, with Enrico Castellani and Piero Manzoni around 1959, through the 60s in contact with the major European groups , until the recent rediscovery and international revaluation. The exhibition, the most complete exhibition dedicated to Bonalumi, illustrates the multifaceted and rigorous activity of one of the greatest abstractionists in the world, through a series of important works, many of which are large.
The exhibition is part of the path with which Palazzo Reale, for the third consecutive year, explores contemporary art in the summer program, reinforcing this year with the collaboration of the Museo del Novecento and presenting four artists to the city to tell the story. creativity of our times: Agostino Bonalumi, Alik Cavaliere and Pino Pinelli at Palazzo Reale, Agostino Ferrari at the Museo del Novecento.
