ABSTRACT : "My work revolves around the intertwining of time, space and movement. Memory and trauma play a central role as well as the idea of pausing to perceive oneself. It is about an accelerated time where the physical space is inexorably fading.
The phenomenon of falling and folding runs through all my works and stands metaphorically for a kind of post-traumatic compression of space and time, the collapse of here and there, of now and then. Constructed splinters and corners, triangles and spaces seem like fragments violently blown out – by unlimited progression, by the pressure of time.
Space is limited and expandable. Through the rythm of unfolding and enfolding I aim to capture a moment in time that encompasses both: the connotation of a lost gaze and a new way of seeing – an unfolding process as a movement towards diversity and potential." Katja Strunz
