Gregor Podnar is pleased to participate in this year’s curated section Back to the Future at Artissima, presenting a selection of works from the formative decades of Vadim Fishkin’s practice, the 1980s and 1990s. The presentation revisits the formative decades of the artist, offering a fresh perspective on the foundations of Fishkin’s artistic language and his ongoing exploration of the intersections between science and art, personal experience and imagination, and the constructed and the real.
While exploring profound ideas, Fishkin’s works retain a sense of humor and accessibility, encouraging viewers to question their understanding of the world by recontextualizing physical action and space through everyday objects and ideas.
