During Frieze
Camile Henrot
As part of Frieze Live, a program of time-based projects happening across the fair, Camille Henrot presents an installation of simplified telephones, which function as unconventional, and unhelpful, self-help hotlines. The phones’ automated system guides users through a labyrinthine series of questions and prompts, such as “press 5 if your dog manipulates you with lies, contradictions or promises.” As participants dial through the dizzying programmed sequence, they are left with disappointment and angst as the authoritative figure they are depending on for answers and guidance will not provide any. For more information, please visit frieze.com
Camile Henrot and Oliver Laric
Work by Camille Henrot and Oliver Laric will be on view in “Strange Days: Memories of the Future,” an exhibition organized by the New Museum at The Store X, opening on October 2. For more information, please visit strangedays-memoriesofthefuture.com
Olaf Breuning
"Heads," a public installation by Breuning, is on view at Smithson Plaza. For more information, please visit encountercontemporary.com
