Over the years, photographs have been referred to as gems or being gem-like and for very good reasons that they are small or special, rare or unique.
Undoubtedly, when someone acquires a gem of a photograph, they create a special place for it in their home - some place where they can see it on a regular basis and some place where they can walk directly up to it, and be close to view it.
