NEW YORK – MILES McENERY GALLERY is pleased to announce a presentation of new paintings by Isca Greenfield-Sanders. The exhibition will be on view Thursday 21 May through 11 July 2020. The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated publication featuring an essay by Kris Paulsen.
For over twenty years, Isca Greenfield-Sanders has created landscape paintings based on found vintage photography, that invite her viewer to forge a connection to their own experience. In her newest body of work "Shade My Eyes," fragments of images have been distilled into carefully composed paintings, which emerge simultaneously familiar yet enigmatic.
ISCA GREENFIELD-SANDERS was born in New York City, where she currently lives and works. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University, in Providence, RI in 2000 in both Visual Art and Mathematics.
She has had numerous solo exhibitions nationally and internationally. Recent solo exhibitions include "Today and Everyday," Galerie Klüser, Munich, Germany; "Inherited Landscape," Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco, CA and "Keep Them Still," Ameringer | McEnery | Yohe, New York, NY. Greenfield-Sanders has also been the subject of solo exhibitions at institutions including MoMA PS1, Long Island City, NY; Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen, Germany; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, CO.
