Adelson Cavalier Galleries is proud to present the work of Maarten Platje and his traveling exhibition, The Early History of the U.S. Navy. For the past five years, Platje has been working to bring to life the most important battles of the early United States Navy in a series of 15 oil paintings. Using both extensive research of the history of the battles and personal experience on the oceans where they took place, Platje has accomplished the impressive feat of capturing what these battles would have realistically looked like with incredible accuracy. For the past year the collection has toured museums across the US, and we are excited to bring an outstanding selection from this show for a special presentation in our Palm Beach gallery from December 22 to 31, 2019. Following the exhibition, select works from this show will be available for viewing through march 2020.
