Sean Kelly is delighted to announce the opening of Anthony McCall’s solo exhibition at Pioneer Works, Brooklyn, NY. Solid Light Works will showcase six of McCall’s well-known ‘solid-light’ installations, a series of videos he began in 1973 with his seminal Line Describing a Cone, in which a volumetric form composed of projected light slowly evolves in three-dimensional space. McCall regards these works as occupying a space between sculpture, cinema, and drawing. The exhibition will take place in the monumental main hall at Pioneer Works, one of the few venues in New York able to accommodate McCall’s vertical works, which require over thirty feet of clearance. The exhibition consists of four vertical and two horizontal works.
