By giving the title THIS IS MY BODY to the exceptional, month-long presentation of fifty videos in Geneva, mounir fatmi stresses the particular importance of his videos in the context of his multifaceted work. Following the screening of twenty-one videos at the Musée de l'Élysée in Lausanne in June, 2018, THIS IS MY BODY is the first presentation of nearly all of fatmi's videos in a single exhibition. Thanks to the renewed collaboration between Analix Forever and Art Bärtschi & Cie, twenty years of creation, from 1997 to 2017, are to be discovered in the Loft43.
mounir fatmi is a maker of images, images of everything - our ambiguities, our fears and our desires, our solitude and our dreams, ours worlds and our words. And with his singular images, the artist stirs up our emotions, through an environement that is both deeply inspired and powerfully creative, all to the sound of imaginary music, sometimes frightening and always hypnotic.
