SET ESPAI D'ART gallery is pleased to invite you to the exhibition "Work in progress" by the artists Chingsum Jessye Luk (Hong Kong, 1982) and Alberto Gil Cásedas (Zaragoza, 1991). The show focuses on the creative process itself and on ongoing and continuous artistic series.
"Work in progress" is a dialogue about the limits of art and its relationship with the mundane, a reflection on the passage of time, memory, perception and language. Employing an eclectic collection of non-conventional materials such as organic elements, newspaper clippings, maps, tickets or personal history files, both artists propose a conceptual reflection on the cyclic, repetitive, monotonous and absurd character of the creative process. Through drawing, collage, photography or objects, they reflect their obsessive need to collect the mundane, to measure, accumulate, inventory and arrange it, pretending to make visible the discarded, the seemingly insignificant, the disappeared.
