📝 Exhibition Description:

Hall’s paintings operate on the shifting line between personal and generational narratives. While his interest in the material histories of coffee and cotton has long addressed systemic divisions, his recent works turn toward our foundational, shared moments. Here, the focus leans toward how identity takes shape within life’s most intimate scenes of early development and communal solidarity. The imagery evokes snapshots from an elementary school field trip or the aftermath of a youth sports tournament. In Hall’s imagination, individual identities dissolve into visual vessels through which viewers draw on their own memories, families, and relationships.
