WALTER MEYER
Walter Meyer is one of South Africa’s most eminent realists. His paintings, generally not on a large scale, are involved with the everyday, mundane views that confront our retinas as we move through the hinterland towns of this country. A sense of bleak aridity pervades his work. Life is simple at the edge of towns where rural hectarage takes over. It’s not easy either, which rusted corrugated iron and very lean dogs bear testament to.
