NANZUKA is pleased to announce Yuichi Yokoyama Exhibition at 2G in Shibuya Parco.
Yuichi Yokoyama was born in 1967 in Miyazaki, Japan, and graduated from Musashino Art University in 1990. He has been active as a manga artist since his debut in 1995, and published a number of manga books including New Engineering (Eastpress, 2004), Travel (Eastpress, 2006), NIWA (Eastpress, 2007), Baby Boom (Eastpress, 2009), Out Door (Kodansha, 2009), Color Engineering (Picturebox / Nanzuka Underground, 2011), among many others.
In addition to his manga, Yokoyama's colorful paintings and drawings have also drawn a wide fan base and his works have received much acclaim within the art scene. Yokoyama's works have appeared in exhibitions including, Yokoyama x Surrealism (Miyazaki Prefectural Art Museum, 2014), Yuichi Yokoyama : Wandering through Maps, une Voyage a Travers les Cartes(Pavillon Blanc Colomiers, France, 2014)The World is Strange! : The Manga and Paintings of Tiger Tateishi and Yuichi Yokoyama (Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, 2016), etc.
This exhibition is comprised of works from Neo-Manga series which represents the artist himself and works painted on board produced between early and late 1990s.
In addition, Yokoyama’s new art book Moeru Oto (Burning Sound) and the shirts produced in collaboration with Daytona International will be on sale at 2G.
