Through thirty works of a pop matrix, some of which unpublished, an in-depth analysis on the concept of memory, in search of a possible balance between freedom of expression, collective memory and the right to be forgotten. «In the paintings and sculptures of Giuseppe Veneziano - writes the curator Marco Rubino - memory is solicited by superheroes, between imaginary, history and narratives; in the works of Francesco De Molfetta memory is changed, reconstructed and updated through the definition of new faces and new identities; Finally, in the paintings of Giulia Maglionico the contemporary concept of memory is investigated, which through social media will be handed down to future generations ". Francesco De Molfetta presents a selection of "scultografie", a neologism that combines sculpture and photography. Ancient black and white images, sought after by the artist in the flea markets, are revisited through the use of porcelain, a three-dimensional element that opens up other possibilities of reading. Equipped with period frames that bear the signs of time, De Molfetta's works are arranged side by side, as if to compose a nineteenth-century picture gallery. Alongside this project, two porcelain sculptures are exhibited, made during an artistic residence in Capodimonte. The works of Giulia Maglionico are part of the larger "Mythology" series, which tells the news of social networks - explains Francesca Baboni - as if it were an Olympus of the vanities of new myths, characters who become mythological figures and go beyond the web and contemporaneity to be placed by the artist in the history of art. Selfies, exhibitionism and icons as works celebrated by the artist for a collective memory. On display, it will be possible to download an App to view the animations of the paintings. Giuseppe Veneziano presents Frida Kahlo, Cicciolina and Spider Man, Daisuke and Andromaca: a pop-iconographic mash-up that includes art history, comics and mythology, provocatively combined together in perfect new pop style. Works in acrylic on canvas in various formats, in which the quotation becomes a tool for analyzing the present, dominated by gossip, economics and mass media.
