? Male Diven - I Paint Divas - Male Divas - Maldives - The Divine?
Prime suspects for all things blue are, as we usually say, Delft tiles and the universe. Jürgen Malcherek collapses painting and drawing by using exactly one color. In absolutely concentrated, charged sessions, images emerge full of cosmic, ornamental rhythms and, embedded in them, portraits of human beings between ecstasy and lethargy. It almost looks as if Jürgen Malcherek wants to examine and determine the parameters of drawing and painting under the microscope by coloring them. Let's look at the picture -Blauer Scorpion- more precisely: The composition is such that in the foreground larger than life a powerful naked figure with mighty muscular thighs stretches and lolls, an Amazon we might think ... a body in any case that is both male and female. The body parts are not arranged as usual, so that the figure resembles a scorpion in shape. Its head seems to originate from the lower level of the picture, the plane that produces the second figure of the picture, darker, farther back, unfolding on the right half of the large painting. And this second figure is clothed, diffuse indeed, parts are transparent, a starry sky becomes visible behind it. Who or what are these beings? A favorite saying of the painter Frances Bacon is: -The reality leaves her specter- The reality leaves her specter - and Jürgen Malcherek has painted the specter, although it is invisible because specters exist only in our sensation.
