For the upcoming Gallery Weekend Berlin 2016 Galerija Gregor Podnar is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of works by Julije Knifer. This comprehensive presentation will include his early works on paper, paintings and notebooks. Knifer (1924–2004) is recognised as one of the most prominent artists related to Concrete Art after 1945. His works are deeply positioned in the background of geometric abstractions, neo-constructivism of the New Tendencies of the 1960s and with their asceticism and interest for the absurd present in the context of anti-art of the neo-avantgarde.
