In Etsu Egami's second solo exhibition at A2Z Art Gallery, the Japanese-born artist presents a series of recent unpublished paintings entitled "Venus Code". Considered one of the most important young living artists in Japan, Etsu Egami has international recognition. Her works have been exhibited in many institutions around the world.
The artist was born in Japan and studied in the United States and Europe, currently living in China. She lives and works in an environment with constant movement with moments of rootedness, rupture and detachment, which contributes to the artist's deep interest in language and the experience of misunderstanding, which she believes is the foundation of any attempt at communication and sharing.
She said we must learn to "listen with the eyes, and see with the ears", in other words, to perceive the visible form as a flow, an undulating figure. Through the rustling of tongue and sound, we should try grasping the forms of thought.
