Christopher Cutts Gallery is pleased to announce it’s 3rd solo exhibition by Berlin based painter Dieter Mammel.
This exhibition titled, “HOT” is comprised of a selection of figurative paintings incorporating both coloured ink and Aquacryl on unprimed canvas. These works are created using a unique technique of applying both ink and Aquacryl medium on wet canvas. A technique primarily reserved for works on paper. The results are startlingly fresh and arresting.
The paintings are imbued with the directness of the artist touch and intention usually reserved for the existential act of abstract action painting or traditional Chinese calligraphy.
“Maybe all men got one big soul everybody’s part of, all faces are the same man. One big self. Everybody lookin’ for salvation by himself. Each like a coal thrown from the fire.”
- Private Witt in The Thin Red Line by Terrence Malick
