Over the years, Vandekerckhove’s expressionistic vocabulary has evolved into a well-defined technique and personal style which – rejecting any fashionable trends – is characterized by an unconventional palette of colours and a contemplative aura. As a result, his oeuvre has an existential dimension, in which isolation, solitude or estrangement all form part of the human condition.
His works are included in the collections of Mercator, Belgian Embassy Tokyo, New York Belgian Residence, Brussels International Airport, C & A Services Brussels, Central Bank of Europe (GE), Belfius Bank, Flemish Parliament, Fortis Bank, Katoennatie, Museum Minden (GE) , Muzee Ostend, Museum Kortrijk, Nestle (GE), National Bank of Belgium, Nord Stern Cologne (GE), University of Antwerp, East and West Flanders Province, DELA (NL) and in numerous private collections.
