Tristian Koenig is delighted to annouce the opening of Performance Wear - a solo exhibition of new work by Perth-born, Los Angeles-based artist Benjamin Barretto, which launches the gallery's 2016 season.

Benjamin Barretto's practice encompasses a diverse range of material outcomes. Derived from the formal and conceptual strategies of activity-based processes, durational works and performance, feedback, looping, chance and mistakes are of equal import to the willful, often spontaneous, acts of the artist.
Benjamin Barretto was born in Perth, 1985, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Barretto graduated from Curtain University, Perth, with Honors in 2011, and was a visiting scholar at the École Nationale Supérieur d’Art in Dijon, France. Recent exhibitions include Play Chandelier, 6817, Los Angeles; Physical Therapy, Furini Arte Contemporanea, Arezzo, Italy; Bloody Red Sun of Fantastic LA, PIASA, Paris, France, curated by René-Julien Praz; Dance Music, Venn Gallery, Perth and Surround Sound, Highlight Gallery, San Francisco.
