The suggestions of Gustavo Foppiani, the suspended objects of Armodio. The truth of being by Gianfranco Ferroni, the supreme synthesis by Piero Guccione. At Arte Fiera 2023 Galleria Stefano Forni proposes four never forgotten artists, protagonists of artistic research between the 60s and 80s. The selection of works on display from 3 to 5 February is a journey within a poetics that tells of passionate and spiritual worlds. Dimensions that go beyond reality, revealing the truth of life through the truth of painting.
The vision of the four artists, inspired by the great masters of the past questions the entire human existence.
Foppiani answers this question by including his own impressions and suggestions in each work. He adopts a surreal language by handing us a parallel world, tenderly poetic and wonderful. His peculiar use of gold leaf recalls the altarpieces, polyptychs and crucifixes of the fourteenth century. Each of his works is a lectio magistralis of grace and spirituality.
Heir to the metaphysical lesson and scrupulous observer, Armodio relies on a refined technique chasing intuition and neglecting rationality. His is a painting without errors, dictated by the perfection of the forms and the elegance of the brushstrokes. The objects, almost stripped of their original function, appear suspended in a spaceless, timeless place.
The works of Gianfranco Ferroni instead pierce the eye of the observer starting from its center. Like an arrow. A punctum, to quote Roland Barthes, which captures the attention of the beholder and makes one question reality. Lights, shadows, transparencies and densities restore body to a space that inevitably separates human life from the life of things, a space in which our destiny and the truth of being reside.
It is not man, but nature who is the protagonist and spokesman of a reality in which uncertainty, passion and melancholy reign. The light and the sea take on a sense of perceptive disorientation and psychological estrangement. Painting is instead the supreme synthesis of figurative and abstract, the entire pictorial surface vibrates and lives through the skilful use of oil and pastel.

Saturday 4 February: Free admission for students of artistic disciplines regularly enrolled in university degree courses or higher education, on presentation of their student card certifying the enrolment.
