Iwan Wirth, President and Co-Founder of Hauser & Wirth, says: ‘As we all continue to master the art of displaying works online, we’re looking forward to more digital fireworks at FIAC’s first virtual art fair in the run up to their physical presentation this October. FIAC’s online platform is one of the best we’ve seen so far.’
Highlights on offer include an exceptional 1971 painting by Philip Guston, whose provenance includes the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Hauser & Wirth has represented the Estate of Philip Guston since 2015. A contemporary highlight includes ‘Two Hippies’ (2020), a painting by George Condo which is part of a series made during the pandemic, contemplating the unsettling experience of physical distance. A visceral work by David Hammons from his earliest and most renowned ‘body prints’ series. Also reflecting on the body, a Louise Bourgeois sculpture, ‘Untitled’ (1993-2003) utilises bodily fragments immortalised in glowing pink marble.
Reflecting the gallery’s global programming available to explore on hauserwirth.com, a painting by Henry Taylor made during his 2021 residency at Hauser & Wirth Somerset features, as well as a Paul McCarthy work from his most recent multi-disciplinary project ‘A&E’, complementing his show at Hauser & Wirth New York. Alongside his first UK solo exhibition at Hauser & Wirth London, a new Plexiglas gridwork by Charles Gaines will also be on view.
