dispari&dispari is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Mimmo Catania entitled "Interior Shot". The exhibition presents a selection of paintings from recent years that focus on interiors. In the course of his various series of works, the artist has always given an important role to the ambience of our becoming in which our entire existence takes place: the interior. The artist highlights certain aspects of the interior that are part of our collective memories, in which we all participate, in which we recognize ourselves. They don't have to be pronounced, they simply resonate, even in their absence. Catania thus gives room to a certain sensitiveness, without frills, which magically fascinates us, and in so doing ties in with the language of meta-realism as which he understands his art: it is a language that does not depict reality, but what reality does to us.
