Jacqueline de Jong, Le blouson très noir et ses femmes, 1964, oil on canvas, 96 x 129 cm, 37 3/4 x 50 3/4 in
Jacqueline de Jong: Paris 1961-68 is a solo presentation of paintings and works on paper made in Paris during the first decade of the artist's career. De Jong's practice developed alongside her involvement with the movements of the European post-war avant-garde, most notably the Situationist International and the Gruppe SPUR. The works on view draw on a historical moment of social change, from political protest to technological developments and new sexual freedom.
